WP-symposium vs BuddyPress

I have always found BuddyPress to be a little buggy and rigid. It has gotten better with the latest releases. Now it actually kinda works, but it's still not as good as it should. I just now came across WP-symposium. I'll give it a try and let you know how it compares to BuddyPress.
